We recommend responsible sources for pets. First and foremost, we encourage people to consider adopting unwanted animals.

Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center. The pound (unfortunately) seems to always have a lots of animals seeking good homes.

The Johnson County Humane Society mostly places cats, but from time to time they get some dogs.

The Washington, Iowa Humane Society Animal Shelter is a private, no-kill shelter supported entirely by donations.
